Senior Backend Software Engineer, JavaScript, REMOTE

We're a growing e-commerce startup with a popular SaaS product, and we're on the lookout for skilled backend developers who know their way around Nest.js / Node.js. This is a full-time gig for experienced engineers who want to be part of an exciting, fast-paced startup for the long haul. Plus, you'll get the chance to own a piece of the company with employee stock options (ESOP).

In this role, you’ll be working on the heart of our product:

• Build out new features for our core platform that handles product recommendations, pricing, discounts, business rule engine, and product subscriptions
• Design and develop tools focused on boosting merchant revenue
• Get involved in shaping our new cloud setup on AWS
• Build powerful integrations with the Shopify API and other e-commerce platforms
• Fine-tune the performance of our API and servers
• Pitch in to improve our devops pipeline for smooth continuous delivery

Requirements

• 5 years or more of software engineering experience
• 2 years or more with AWS or GKE
• 1 year or more building web applications with Nest.js
• 1 year or more employed fully remotely by international companies

Bonus points - if you have experience with

• Developing apps for Shopify, familiar with the platform concepts and API
• Deploying microservices on Amazon ECS or Google GKE
• Typescript
• Digital nomads are welcome!

Stack

All new microservices are written using Nest.js and Prisma ORM, with PostgreSQL.

Our servers run on AWS ECS and on Heroku.

Our lightweight agile process and technical knowledge are managed in Notion.

We use GitHub, Sentry.io, SemaphoreCI, New Relic.
